Newcastle Youth Accommodation Services Ltd. (NYASL) is a community based service provider, whose aim is to offer a service that provides affordable, supported, stable accommodation with external support for disadvantaged and homeless young people within the Newcastle/Lake Macquarie community (New South Wales, Australia).
NYASL operates from a strengths based philosophy and is committed to empowering young people and creating opportunities for them to make informed choices about their lives. This may mean working with a young person to enhance their ability to live independently and /or to assist them to reconnect with their family and community.
We run a variety of programs that meet the needs of a wide range of young people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. These include Clarendene House, our crisis accommodation facility; The Embassy, the base for our Community Living Program to assist young people learning to live independently; and the Outreach Service, supporting young people in independent accommodation. We also publish a weekly vacancy register to assist young people looking to rent their own place.
